The Mississauga Humane Society is 100% volunteer-run, relying strictly on donations with no support from city/government/SPCA; a registered non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and finding homes for cats and dogs. We provide a safe caring environment for our pets while we work diligently to find them wonderful homes with caring families. The Mississauga Humane Society is unique in that we operate without the use of shelter facilities. All of our pets are cared for by foster families during their time with us. We rescue without bias, we take in all pets in need of help regardless of age or health conditions. We are always looking for support whether it be your time, donations of toys, leashes, kennels, blankets or cash donations. Learn more about us from our Web site at: mississaugahumanesociety.com.

Mom cats and kittens are coming in faster than we can keep up with.
If you can foster kittens or a cat family please call us at 905-271-0883.
The pets below urgently need foster homes...
please consider opening your home to any of them.
DOOGIE NEEDS A FOSTER HOME
Doogie is an older hound who lived outside on a chain for his whole life. He is super friendly and very excitable when you pet him - it's like he can't get enough attention. He and other hounds were recently seized by a pound. We need to find a foster home for Doogie so we can rescue him. If you can provide a loving foster home for this homeless soul, call us at 905-271-0883.
URGENT!! ELLA NEEDS A FOSTER (OR ADOPTIVE) HOME
I'm Ella, a lovely little senior lady, and I need a home to call my own for now or for forever - that is, a foster home and/or a permanent home. I'm very sweet and a joy to have around. If you want to live with a kitty who is no trouble at all, please choose me! Call MHS right away at 905-271-0883. More about Ella...
OAKLEY NEEDS A FOSTER HOME
Oakley is a Walker Hound who is friendly and energetic, about 1 year old, 55 lbs. He is good with other dogs. Oakley is being confined in a pound right now and can't wait to go to a home where he will be treated as a family member. We will rescue him if a foster space can be found. A home with a fenced yard is preferred To help Oakley please call MHS at 905-271-0883.
KARL NEEDS A FOSTER (OR ADOPTIVE) HOME
I'm Karl, a fellow who was rescued from the streets. That experience has left me a little scared of people, and I need someone to look after me who will help me get comfortable again. I'm not aggressive, just frightened. I just know that one day I'll be as much of a pet as any other cat! If you can help me call MHS right away at 905-271-0883. More about Karl...

Please consider adopting one of these featured pets!

Yes, we still have kittens for adoption!Look at those we have, and take your baby home today! Pictured at left is Milo.

Mishka is a gentle young female cat with a soft long coat. She needs a home where she'll get a lot of attention and will have another cat friend. She would do well in a home with a stay-home person who wants to dote on her. more

If you agree that black goes with everything, please consider adopting one of our gorgeous black cats. We have all ages and all coat lengths to choose from. Black cats, like big black dogs, are always the last to be adopted because people tend to prefer other colours. Yet purr-sonality has to do with the individual and a cat of any colour is a fabulous pet! Black cats are beautiful, shiny and sleek, and in many cultures they are considered good luck. What could be better than beauty and good luck in one package? If you are looking to adopt a cat, please consider giving a home to a wonderful black cat like Hayley, Hero, Julie, Heaven, Chase, Ambi or Eddie. Or if you prefer, a black cat with a little bit of white like Typsy, Pookie, Punkin... browse through our pages and find your next companion!

Thanks to everyone who supported our annual walkathon on Sept. 20. It was great to see all the happy dogs (and their people)!
Take a look at a short video of the 2008 walkathon.
   •
Thanks also to the LCBO store in Meadowvale Town Centre for their great fundraiser that ended Sept. 27. It took a lot of work to put on such a successful event ... MHS sends the store staff and their customers a huge thank you for all you did!
